The Challenge
SynbiCITE serves as the UK’s Innovation and Knowledge Centre (IKC) for Synthetic Biology. They came to us for a new site – their previous website was out of date, hard to use both internally and for their users and had over 800 pages, many which were redundant. We created user personas, a new and much improved sitemap, and then mapped our user’s journeys through the new structure.
The Sitemap
To really focus the users and provide an easy to follow structure, we set about creating an updated sitemap. We defined the key pages and sorted them under simple headings, and then created a simple designed version to show to the client for approval.
A New website
The next stage was to create the designs for the website. I focussed on a clean, minimal and modern design for the pages.
I designed a comprehensive card system that could be used through the site to display multiple types of content, including case studies, news, resources and partners.
Other designed elements, such as the forms and filtering, were created and passed on to our developer to build.
This site is currently in the process of being built, tested and content being added, but is set to launch in March 2025.
