The Challenge

During my time at Sciad Communications, we decided that the company needed a complete brand overhaul. The existing website was old, hard to update and difficult to use. I lead the design process, with support from the Head of Design and an external marketing consultant, as we embarked on the creative journey to bring the Sciad brand into the modern day.

A New Brand

I produced a multitude of different concepts that considered all the key parts of the brief, and we ended up with a clean, modern and effective visual identity. I then flowed this all through all the key brand assets – brand guidelines, business cards, event stands, ads, PPT templates - you name it.

A New website

We then worked on creating a new website – I again took the lead on this part of project and created a wireframe, then high fidelity prototype using Adobe XD. After approval from the CEO, we were able to put the site into production. I passed the designs off to our developer and he worked to create the designs in WordPress. We produced website banners, a new hero video in collaboration with a film production house, and input all of our content. I then cross-browser tested, sent over the bug reports and then the site was ready to go live.

After a year we decided that the Branding and Design section needed an update. I worked closely with our developer and senior account manager to bring in updated cards and imagery, and page layouts to showcase our design capabilities, which has resulted in several new leads.

Our focus is our people.

We aimed to feature the Sciad team as much as possible on the website. This connects to one of the key brand messages: “We define ourselves as a team of scientists, communicators and designers with a passion for bringing innovation to life. Simply put, we make Sciad what it is.”
